Great news at the Chinese Speech Contest held by Midwest Chinese Teachers' Alliance in April 21st, 2012. There are about two hundred Mandarin students from over 80 prestigious schools in mid-west area involved in this competition.

Brenda Navarrete (Chinese I), Jennifer Vu(Chinese I), Teshurah Lee(Chinese II), and Dwayne Jenkins(Chinese III) each won a gold metal. Their hard work and dedication paid off. This is a phenomenal achievement!!!

GWCP Science Olympiad Team

The George Westinghouse College Prep's Science Olympiad Team placed 4th overall
at the Wright College Regional Tournament and will now be advancing to
the State Tournament on April 13 and 14, hosted by the University of
Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Individual honors are as follows:

Lupe Acre: 4th in Protein Modeling

Isa Alvarez: 1st in Forestry

Alex Calatayud: 3rd in Chemistry Lab, 3rd in Astronomy, and 4th in
Fermi Questions

Cosmic Gober: 3rd in Chemistry Lab and 3rd in Forensic Science

Pragya Jha: 2nd in Anatomy & Physiology and 3rd in Forensic Science

Andrew Singleton: 4th in Protein Modeling
